Frances Lee Hodler
Frances Lee Hodler Ford, 86, passed away peacefully in
Phoenix, Arizona on November 30, 2018.
She was born on May 31, 1932, in Independence, Missouri to
Edward Christian Hodler and Ella Blanche Alley
Hodler.
As a child and young adult, she lived in Tipton,
Iowa where she attended Tipton Consolidated
School.
In 1949, Frances married her high school sweetheart, Hilbert Upton Ford, also from Tipton. They
lived in Tipton and Davenport, Iowa before
moving to Denver, Colorado in 1958. After their
divorce in 1977, she moved to Phoenix, Arizona
where she worked as an office manager for a
podiatrist.
She was the proud former president of the Waymark Chapter of
the Grandmother's Club. She loved spending time with her family
and friends.
She is survived by her six children: Deborah (John) Bryant, Rebecca (Paul) Zancanelli, Michael (Marge) Ford, Steven (Lynda)
Ford, Jeffery (Jill) Ford, Julie (Bradley) Gunder; sister-in-law, Judy
(Don) Timm; brother-in-law, Terry (Phyllis) Ford; and best friend,
Connie (Rex) Burger; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and
numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband;
grandsons, Paul and Mark Johnson; and nephew, Daniel Timm.
Services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, June 3, 2019, at the funeral
home. Officiating will be the Rev. David Stoner. Burial will be at
the Salem U.C.C. Cemetery near California, Mo.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral
Services, 100 S. Oak St. in California, Missouri.
