Simi Valley, California

August 31, 1929 - December 4, 2012

Ronald Wayne Fischer, 83, of Simi Valley, California, passed away on December 4th, at his home.
He was born Aug. 31st, 1929 to Wilbert W. and Corinne Fischer in Elgin, Illinois, both of whom preceded him in death.
After a time in the U. S. Navy, he spent a short time as a police officer in Elgin, Illinois.
In 1961 he moved to the state of California where he became the Physical Fitness Director of The Los Angeles Athletic Club and in 1963 the fitness coach for the then LA Rams.
He later became a licensed private investigator and also did stunt work and some acting in several movies.
He was an Olympic style weight lifter and won the worlds master championship three times.
He had much interest in nutrition and earned a degree as a licensed nutritionist in that state.
Most of the last 20 years he spent researching and authoring several western history books which were published. His great love for the old west was certainly one reason he chose to live many of those last years in Tombstone Arizona.
He is survived by four sons, Monty, Craig, Ron Jr., and Rick, as well as six grandchildren. He is also survived by his close companion Joanie Cunningham as well as nieces and nephews. He is survived by and will be deeply missed by his brother Dennis Fischer and wife Doris of California, Missouri, and his sister Joy Kiesling and her husband Walter of Russellville, Missouri.

My husband, Craig Fischer, and I were deeply saddened to hear the news so late of his fathers passing. Craig has lost contact with family and was not notified because of that. We had a memorial service just a couple of weeks ago so he could say goodbye to his dad properly. We would love to reconnect with any family and are search to find contact information.

We were married on Valentine's Day, 2013 and are happy, living in the Kansas City area.
