Patricia L. Kirk, 66, of California, Missouri passed away Friday, December 28, 2012 at her home.
She was born on September 13, 1946 in Port Arthur, Texas to Alfred Berlin and Hazel (East) Cappen.
Patti was married to Gerald E. Kirk on June 1, 1968 in North Augusta, South Carolina, who survives of the home. She loved him with all of her heart. Patti was a loving mother of 13 children and grandmother of 18 grandchildren. She loved camping, cooking, canning, attending church, singing and writing poetry, but most of all, she loved spending time and talking to and about her children and grandchildren. Her family was her world. She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed doing missionary work. Patricia is also survived by her children Stefanie Kirk, Holly (Kirk) Treft, Spencer Kirk, Grant Kirk, Megan Kirk, Afton Kirk, Adriana (Kirk) Monroe, Matthew Kirk, Joshua Kirk, Marilee (Kirk) Easter, Rachelle Kirk. She was preceded in death by: Her parents, sisters Nancy Thompson and Hazel Ann, a brother Van Ray Cappen and two infant children Ashley and Kaitlyn Kirk. Patti did not consider herself anything more than a wife, a mom and a grandmother and felt that was her reward in this life. She never sought nor expected credit for her contributions... She is truly a mother of Zion.
