Virginia Cleavy Palmer, 95, of Tipton, MO passed away November 3, 2013, at Tipton Oak Manor.
She was born April 24, 1918 in California, MO to John Herman and Bertha Elizabeth (Workover) Huning, who preceded her in death.
On March 22, 1953, she married James Rogers Palmer at the First Baptist Church in California. He preceded her in death in 1990.
She grew up on a farm in rural Moniteau County near California and graduated from Lone Oak School near Latham.
She worked for several years at California Manufacturing Company, and after her marriage, became a homemaker. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Tipton.
Two daughters were born to Virginia and “Jimmie”—Janie Kay who passed away in 1988 and Carol Fay who passed away in 2002. Two sisters also preceded her in death—Frances Hill and Lucille Huning.
Virginia is survived by two nieces—Ruby (Clyde) Gerber and Lucy (Don) Engelbrecht, both of Tipton; a sister-in-law—Pat Palmer of Gladstone and several great nieces and nephews.
Her body is being cremated and family services will be held at a later date with burial in the California City Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Tipton.
