Ron and Janet Gerhart, Highway 87, received first place for their home during the California Area Chamber of Commerce Tree Lighting Contest. The winners were each awarded a Chamber of Commerce gift certificate, a Chamber of Commerce commemorative Christmas ornament, and a sign for their yard designating them as a contest winner.

In conjunction with this year's Christmas celebration, the California Area Chamber of Commerce hosted an outdoor lighting/decorating contest for California residents and surrounding areas.
