Hogges Meet Through Navy, Together for 65 Years
Robert and Eleanor Hogge met at Central Methodist University, Fayette, while she was going to college and he was sent to the college to be a participant in the U.S. Navy's V-12 Commissioned Officers Training Program. Robert would later finish training in Chicago before being stationed in Miami where the couple would be married and spend their honeymoon. After staying in Miami for three months Robert then went to San Diego where he shipped out and spent a year at sea while Eleanor came back to California and stayed with family while working at a bank.
