An Old Lantern Lights a Bit of History for Derry Brownfield
A little lantern light was thrown on a bit of history recently as the result of an item in the Past in Review. According to Derry Brownfield, widely known for his radio broadcast “The Common Sense Coalition,” an item from the 100 years ago section of the Dec. 22, 2010, California Democrat caught his eye since it mentioned his grandfather George P. Stegner being appointed fire chief of the newly formed City of California Fire Department in 1910.
