From left, American Indians Dona McKinney of the Omaha tribe and Wendi Wald of the Lakota tribe tell stories to the children, families and friends at Wood Place Public Library Thursday, June 23. They brought clothing and other traditional tribal regalia which the children were later allowed to touch and look at. An Omaha story told was "How the Possum Got its Tail." A Lakota explanation was given of the colors associated with the four directions. McKinney's husband Oren also was in attendance. The visit was part of the Missouri Folk Arts Program.
