Scott Williams, Missouri Department of Conservation, demonstrates a body grip trap designed to work underwater and catch beaver. As a part of his discussion of trapping nuisance animals, and furbearers, Williams demonstrated several different types of live and kill traps.

Annual Women As Landowners attendance up
There were 136 signed up for the seventh annual Women As Landowners and Their Partners Conference held Tuesday, Feb. 22, at the California United Church of Christ. Last year there were 99. The three breakout sessions included six topics to choose from. "Container Gardening" by Alice Longfellow of Longfellow's Garden Center proved very popular, just as container gardening is becoming more popular. She talked about how to grow healthy container gardens at what time of year, the pot size needed and what plants thrive in that environment.
