Young people of all ages took part in the California Elementary School PTO Carnival on Saturday, Sept. 29. The event was held throughout the elementary school facility and outside. The parking lot was home to a straw-bale maze for the adventurous young people. There were a wide range of activities including a cookie walk, mum walk, duck pond, dinosaur egg hunt, tattoo parlor, bean bag toss, face painting, basketball hoop shot and football toss. In the cafeteria, a food court served a wide variety of items and provided seating for both diners and the audience. Many businesses and individuals contributed items for the silent auction and the carnival. A main goal of the PTO is to raise funds for new cafeteria tables.
