On the job early at about 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, Scott Emmerich, City of California Electric Department, holds the squirrel responsible for the low water pressure many residents woke up to. According to Water Superviser Kyle Wirts, the squirrel came in contact with the transformer and fuse bank, blowing all the fuses, and took out the power to City Well No. 8 sometime during the night. Well No. 8 at the water tower on Russellville Road, is the major well of the system. No boil order was necessary since the water pressure did not go below 22 pounds.
