House move is rewarding for Wes Bolinger

Wes Bolinger bought an acre of land on Flag Springs Road, California, with plans to someday build his first home on the lot. Sometimes, however, our best laid plans are derailed by circumstance, chance, fortune, or even faith. For Bolinger, 27, a little of each played a part in the path to his first home. It turns out, Bolinger was actually given a house by his good friends James and Lisa Milligan, California. The only catch was - he would have to move the house. See the March 13 issue of the Democrat for more on this cool move!

Home improvements enhance Miller home

Jim and Jeanne Miller's goal has always been to have a comfortable home that looks nice, so they have often updated and remodeled over the years. Though the most recent improvements to the home they've lived in for nearly 10 years resulted in long hours of hard work, both agree the end result was worth it. "Remodeling is quite the chore," Jim, 59, said. "But I would do it again because it's worth it when you consider what you end up with." Jeanne, 59, added, "Jim and I did the bathroom ourselves and we put in a lot of hours. It would've been easier if it had been him and another man instead of me. But we did it. It's nice to improve the look of our home. It enhances it." The couple started on their bathroom in July 2012, which they basically gutted. "It needed to be updated," Jeanne said. See the March 13th issue of the California Democrat to see all the updates the Millers have done to their home.
