The California High School varsity track team competed in a 12-team meet at Versailles Thursday, April 7, where both the Pintos and Lady Pintos finished in third place.
The Lady Pintos scored 84 points with their third place finish, while the Pintos had 84 3/4 points, just 1/4 point behind the boys' team that finished in second place.
The CHS tracksters will host their first meet at the new CHS track at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 12.
California Coach Rick Edwards said, "It would be nice to see a big crowd come cheer our athletes on in the first home meet in 12 years at California."
