Road work

Road crews will be doing chip sealing on roadways to extend pavement life throughout Mid-Missouri. Motorists should expect to encounter loose gravel on the road surface for several days after the seal coat is complete. At that time, crews will sweep the roadway. Drivers should lower their speeds through the area. Motorists should expect delays. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Moniteau County

• Missouri 179 between Route P and Splice Creek - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Cooper and Moniteau counties

• Missouri 87 between Route O and I-70 - Roadway resurfacing, widening of shoulders and installation of rumble strips continues. One lane is open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area. The project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Cole County

• Route B over the Osage River Bridge north of St. Thomas - Bridge rehabilitation work continues. Temporary traffic signals are moving traffic through the work area. The entire project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

• Route D between U.S. 50 and Route C - Chip sealing is scheduled to take place Wednesday.

• Militia Drive between U.S. 50 and the end of state maintenance - Chip sealing is scheduled to take place Thursday.

Boone County

• Stadium Boulevard at Interstate 70 - Construction of a diverging diamond interchange continues. Motorists are advised to slow down and pay attention to trucks entering and leaving the construction area. Construction is scheduled to be completed in winter of 2014.

Callaway County

• Route B between U.S. 54 and the Montgomery County line - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday through Thursday, Sept. 5. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

• Route T between U.S. 54 and the end of state maintenance - Chip sealing is scheduled to take place Monday.

• Route AB between Route D and the end of state maintenance - Chip sealing is scheduled to take place Monday.

Camden County

• Missouri 5 bridge over the Lake of the Ozarks at Hurricane Deck - Bridge replacement continues. Much of the work currently taking place will not affect traffic. However, traffic could be stopped briefly to allow equipment to be moved. A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, on the bridge.

Miller County

• U.S. 54 between Cave Drive and Walnut Grove Road - Roadside maintenance in the eastbound and westbound lanes will take place Monday and Tuesday. One eastbound lane and one westbound lane will be open through the work area.

• Route K between Eagles Nest Road and the end of state maintenance - Replacement of low-water crossing will take place Monday through Thursday. The road is closed until the work is complete.

Miller and Cole counties

• Route AA between U.S. 54 and Route C - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, Sept. 3, through Thursday, Sept. 5. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

Morgan County

• U.S. 50 at the Lamine River bridge west of Syracuse and U.S. 50 at the Union Pacific Railroad bridge west of Syracuse - Bridge deck replacement continues. Traffic over the Lamine River bridge is controlled by temporary traffic signals and a temporary concrete barrier has been placed along the bridge between the work location and the active lane. The railroad bridge is closed to complete the overlay work in the eastbound lanes. Periodic lane closures can be expected through the work area. The entire project is scheduled for completion in the fall.

Osage County

• U.S. 50 between U.S. 63 and Route W - Construction of new lanes continues. Much of the work currently taking place will not affect traffic. The entire project is scheduled for completion in fall 2014.

• Route P between U.S. 63 and Route T - Roadway maintenance will take place Monday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

• Route U between U.S. 50 and Route E - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday through Thursday. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

• Route CC between U.S. 50 and the end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, Sept. 3, through Thursday, Sept. 5. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.

• Route RA between Route CC and the end of state maintenance - Roadway maintenance will take place Tuesday, Sept. 3, through Thursday, Sept. 5. One lane will be open, and crews will flag traffic through the work area.
