• California 4th of July Parade "A Time of Reflection", line-up at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 4, on Smith Street near Cargill. The parade will start at 10 a.m. Following the parade, the Califonria Historic District will sponsor free children's games (for ages 12 and under) on the courthouse lawn. Also, a free swim will be offered 1-7 p.m. at the California Pool.
• California 4th of July Fireworks, at dusk Thursday, July 4, at Proctor Park. If there is inclement weather, fireworks will be displayed at dusk on Friday, July 5.
• High Point 4th of July Celebration, 6 p.m. Thursday, July 4, at the Albert Jobe Ball Field. Food service will begin at 8 p.m. The Veterans Memorial will be dedicated followed by fireworks at dark.
• John Cecilia and His Country Ordaras, 7 p.m. Saturday, July 6, at the California Nutrition Center, 107 W. Versailles Ave. Admission is $5. Call 796-4240 for more information.
