Two Clarksburg residents arrested on drug charges

Two Clarksburg residents were arrested on a variety of drug-related charges last month.

On May 21, deputies with the Moniteau County Sheriff's Office and the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force conducted a narcotics investigation in the city of Clarksburg. Deputies went to a residence located on Academy Street to follow up on information received of possible drug activity.

Upon making contact with the residents of the house, deputies asked for consent to search the residence for narcotics. Consent to search of the residence was denied by the occupants and the property was sealed for a search warrant. Deputies applied for and received a search warrant for the property.

Upon search, deputies and task force agents found and seized marijuana, drug paraphernalia, methamphetamines, firearms and items used to package and sell drugs.

While searching the outside of the residence, deputies discovered an area in which the ground appeared to have been recently dug up. Deputies probed the area and located a safe that had been buried at that location. The Moniteau County Sheriff K-9 Unit indicated a positive alert on the safe, which was opened to reveal drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

Deputies also located a growing marijuana plant outside the residence. The persons living at the residence, identified as Samantha J. Williamson, 23, and Aaron T. Maikai-Moseley, 30, were taken into custody and transported to the Moniteau County Jail. Moseley is currently on probation and parole out of the state of Missouri.

Williamson, of Clarksburg, was charged with delivery of a controlled substance and manufacture of a controlled substance, with bond set at $50,000. Maikai-Moseley, also of Clarksburg, was charged with delivery of a controlled substance, manufacture of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm, with bond set at $100,000.
