Clarksburg C-2 begins 22-23 school year with gymnasium

Clarksburg C-2 prepares for the 2022-2023 school year with steps toward gymnasium upgrades–made possible by the passing of Proposition 1–and a full return of last year's staff. "We're doing some light remodeling to the gym; we're bidding the scoreboards and backboards," said Principal Superintendent Nathan Bestgen. "We're in the planning process of that. It will probably start in the spring."

In addition, Bestgen said Clarksburg has satisfactorily maintained its educators. "We added a teacher last year, but (in general) we have a pretty good staff retention rate around here," he said.

After Chromebooks and Google Classroom were successfully implemented in the 2018-2019 school year, students K-8 will now utilize the technology. In the event of an unexpected shutdown, Google Classroom allows students to submit assignments and communicate with teachers from the same platform.

With classes resuming Aug. 22, Clarksburg faculty and staff are adding the finishing touches to the school. "We're getting the building back in order and getting ready to go," Bestgen said.
