Blackout in California during winter weather

A power outage left some California residents in the dark Thursday during frigid weather.

The outage occurred after a power line burned around 7 p.m., affecting areas southeast of Missouri 87 and U.S. 50.

The city sent out workers from California's electric department at 7:15 p.m. to resolve the issue. Workers repaired the line and energized the circuit, restoring power to residents' homes around 8 p.m.
