With just over five weeks to go, more than a third of the tables at the Missouri Governor's Prayer Breakfast have been reserved.

Tickets for the annual interfaith event, scheduled for 7 a.m. Jan. 5 at the Capitol Plaza Hotel & Convention Center, 415 West McCarty St., can be reserved online at missourigpb.com.

The Governor's Prayer Breakfast brings together state lawmakers and community leaders to "seek God's guidance" at the start of the legislative session, which begins Wednesday, Jan. 4.

This year's speakers include Branden Rathert, host of the Wake Up Mid-Missouri radio show; Rev. Scott Watson, pastor of River Bluff Fellowship in Ozark; and Dan Meers, the KC Wolf mascot of the Kansas City Chiefs for more than 30 years.

Paul John Modest Miles, the pastor of Morning Star Baptist Church in Kansas City, was the keynote speaker last year. In 2020, it was Ben Carson, the former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

Individual seats can be reserved for $37 and tables of 10 for $370.

Twenty-nine of the event's 78 tables were sold out as of Sunday afternoon, and another 16 individual seats were reserved. Approximately 49 tables and 44 individual seats can still be reserved.

The Governor's Prayer Breakfast will also be live streamed online at vimeo.com/event/2292678/016a612142.
