The tax rate for California residents will remain the same for the following year.
During a public tax levy hearing on Monday, the California Board of Aldermen approved the city's tax to remain at the same rate. The tax rate for California residents for the following year is $0.4102 for the city's general revenue fund and $0.1620 for the city's park fund.
After the tax levy meeting concluded, aldermen entered into session for their monthly meeting. Members quickly moved through their agenda for the evening.
The board approved a bid for a set of new dumpsters for the California Street Department. Members also approved a number of ordinances.
Gregory Container bid $8,820 and Downing Sales and Service bid $8,570 for the dumpsters. Ultimately, the board chose the lowest bid from Downing Sales and Services to provide the units to the city. The new units include three two-yard dumpsters and six four-yard dumpsters.

An ordinance approving a contract between Higgins Asphalt Company and the city for improvements to Proctor Park. Higgins Asphalt will reseal trails in the area.

An ordinance repealing and adopting revisions to the current schedule of charges for solid waste disposal in the city.
