California receives $1.58 million grant for well replacement

The grant will be used to replace Well No. 7, a well east of California near California Manufacturing, after it developed issues in March when a section of well casing collapsed. Since, the well — which previously pumped most of the water for California, including the Cargill plant — has been operating at reduced capacity.
