California wrestling drops both matches in dual with Warsaw

California High School wrestling took on the Warsaw Wildcats on Thursday night at the Warsaw Community Building.

The Lady Pintos were defeated by the Lady Wildcats 24-18. Camryn Wingate won the 110 pound match by pin. Ivy Scroggins and Temwa Nkosi won by forfeit. Bella Fulks and Ivee Cooper lost both of their matches.

The Pintos were defeated by Warsaw 51-30. Patrick Morrow, Jose Martinez, Jackson Barnard and Alexis Anguiano all won their matches against Warsaw by fall. Talyn Balsley won by forfeit. Connor Farmer, Gage Trivette, Kwynnon Duvall, Rowdy Davis and Cody Schneider lost their matches.

California will look to bounce back when they wrestle in two tournaments. First, the Lady Pintos wrestle in the Blair Oaks Tournament on Wednesday. Then both teams will wrestle in the Battle on the Katy Trail in Sedalia on Saturday and Sunday.

A week earlier at the Ray Stockton Tournament in Knob Noster, Patrick Morrow won second place in the 132-pound bracket. Morrow went 2-1 in Knob Noster, earning one of his two wins by pin and the other in regulation. Tristan Balsley finished fourth place in the 150-pound bracket with a 3-2 record.
