California's 10u summer baseball team, the California - Boombox Fireworks, under the direction of hear coach Jason Gatlin, hosted Tipton at Proctor Park's Field 3 on Monday night.

Boombox Fireworks allowed four runs in the first inning and gave up three additional runs in the second. Although California scored their first run on a ground ball to left field, Tipton added an insurance run in the top of the fourth to win the game 8-1 after 90 minutes of playing time.

Despite the loss to Tipton, coach Gatlin said that most important part of the game for his team was learning how to play the game and always enjoying the game no matter what the score is.

"The most important part about this summer with these kids is teaching this kids how to be good sports. To remember that baseball is a game that we just play for fun. We want to come out here and have a good time while learning the game of baseball without getting angry or upset. I think these kids have really been enjoying this summer," Gatlin said.

California - Boombox Fireworks is back in action Thursday night in Versailles.
