Vietnam vet honored with Quilt of Valor

Connie Richards, right, of Mid-Missouri Quilts of Valor, thanks Richard Ott for his military service after wrapping him Friday in his personalized quilt at the Latham Memorial Family Park in California. Ott served three tours in Vietnam between 1965-68 while serving aboard the USS Estes. Richards said the Quilts of Valor organization, which her chapter belongs to, has produced nearly 350,000 personalized quilts for service members and veterans since the first was quilted in 2003.
