Passenger hurt in Miller County crash

An Ulman woman was seriously injured in a Miller County crash Tuesday afternoon.

Mary E. Jensen, 59, of Waynesville, about 4:30 p.m., was northbound in a Toyota Matrix on Route C near Missouri Highway 42, when she made a U-turn in the highway, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.

A northbound Jeep Wrangler, driven by Vincent J. Groniger, 54, of Ulman, struck the Matrix, then overturned and went off the right side of the road.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Neither was injured.

Janet L. Groniger, of Ulman, a 52-year-old passenger in the Jeep who was also wearing a seat belt, suffered serious injuries and was flown to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment.
