Two Central Missouri men died in a head-on collision in Cole County early Tuesday morning.
Loren E. Nichols, 35, of Jefferson City, and Richard W. Dippold, 39, of Russellville, died when their vehicles collided about 6:46 a.m., on Route C near Route AA, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.
Nichols, according to the report, was westbound on Route C in a GMC van, when he crossed the center line and collided with an eastbound Chevrolet truck driven by Dippold.
Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
Nichols was wearing a seat belt. Dippold was not.
The deaths represent the eighth and ninth fatalities in Troop F for 2023.
