California qualifies ten for sectionals at Districts

California track and field ran Saturday in the Class 3 District 4 tournament at North Point High School in Wentzville.

The Lady Pintos finished sixth place in the girls team competition with 55 points, while the Pintos finished ninth place in the boys team competition with 41 points.

At the district meet, athletes had to finish in the top four in their event to qualify for the Class 3 Sectional 2 tournament.

Kenzleigh Goans qualified for sectionals in three events. Goans finished third place in the girls 800-meter run with a time of 2 minutes and 28.80 seconds. Goans also finished third place in the girls 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:42 and the girls 3,200-meter run with a time of 12:35.70.

Ayden Bryant qualified for sectionals in two events. Bryant won the district championship in the boys long jump with a new personal-best jump of 6.81 meters. Bryant also qualified for the boys 100-meter dash with a new personal-best time of 11.25 seconds.

Emma Braby qualified for sectionals with a second-place finish in the girls shot put with a new personal-best record throw of 10.72 meters.

Ian Miller qualified for sectionals with a third-place finish in the boys 400-meter dash with a new personal-best time of 52.19 seconds.

Allie Heather qualified for sectionals with a fourth-place finish in the girls 400-meter dash with a new personal-best time of 1:03.05.

Jackson Hensley qualified for sectionals with a fourth-place finish in the boys 110-meter hurdles with a new personal-best time of 16.17 seconds.

Abby Braby qualified for sectionals with a fourth-place finish in the girls discus with a new personal-best throw of 30.11 meters.

The girls 4x400 meter relay team of Allie Heather, Kierstyn Lawson, Tayte Higgins and Hailey Rademan qualified for sectionals with a third place finish with a new personal-best time of 4:18.48.

Other finishes for California were as follows:

Lauren Friedrich took sixth place in both the girls 100-meter dash with a time of 28.04 seconds and the girls 200-meter dash with a time of 28.51 seconds.

Tyler Oden finished seventh place in the boys long jump with a jump of 6.01 meters. Oden also finished eighth place in both the boys 100-meter dash with a time of 11.85 seconds, and the boys 100-meter dash with a time of 12.10 seconds. Oden also took 10th place in the boys 200-meter dash with a time of 25.26 seconds.

Tristan Balsley took ninth place in both the boys 110-meter hurdles with a time of 18.59 seconds and the boys 300-meter hurdles with a time of 45.06 seconds.

Griffin Booth took ninth place in both the boys discus with a throw of 34.39 meters and the boys shot put with a throw of 12.68 meters.

Abbigail Stuedle took tenth place in the girls triple jump with a jump of 8.27 meters. Stuedle also took 12th place in the girls 800-meter run with a time of 3:28.52.

Paige Morris finished 11th place in the girls 100-meter dash with a time of 20.28 seconds. Morris also finished 12th place in the girls 300-meter hurdles with a time of 58.22 seconds.

Hayden Hern took 11th place in the boys 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:18.50. Hern also finished 12th place in the boys 3,200-meter run with a time of 11:35.57.

Camryn Wingate finished 12th place in the girls 300-meter hurdles with a time of 59 seconds even. Wingate also took ninth place in the girls 3,200 meter run with a time of 15:35.29.

Andrew Reed took 13th place in the boys 3,200-meter run with a time of 12:18.88. Reed also took 17th place in the boys 800-meter run with a time of 2:23.99.

Lance Clevenger finished 14th place in the boys 200-meter dash with a time of 25.87 seconds. Clevenger also took 16th place in the boys 300-meter hurdles with a time of 48.75 seconds.

Peter Dampf finished 14th place in the boys discus with a throw of 32.46 meters. Dampf also finished 18th place in the boys shot put with a throw of 11.35 meters.

Ian Miller finished fifth place in the boys 800-meter relay with a time of 2:04.39.

Damien Pace finished sixth place in the boys 400-meter dash with a time of 56.71 seconds.

Abby Braby finished seventh place in the girls javelin with a throw of 35.65 meters. She also took ninth place in the girls discus with a throw of 27.25 meters.

Jackson Hensley finished ninth place in the boys high jump with a jump of 1.67 meters.

Jackson Barnard tied for ninth place in the boys pole vault with a jump of 3.05 meters.

Lanie Holtsclaw took tenth place in the girls javelin with a throw of 29.30 meters.

Kierstyn Lawson finished tenth place in the girls 100-meter dash with a time of 14.28 seconds.

Hillary Roney took tenth place in the girls 1,600-meter run with a time of 7:23.06.

DJ Schneider finished 12th place in the boys javelin with a throw of 33.75 meters.

Isabelle Allen took 13th place in the girls 100-meter dash with a time of 21.55 seconds.

Reghan Lewis took 14th place in the girls 100-meter dash with a time of 16.65 seconds.

Blecke Ferreira took 19th place in the boys javelin with a throw of 28.65 meters.

The girls 4x100 meter relay team of Kierstyn Lawson, Penelope Cotten, Tayte Higgins and Lauren Friedrich finished sixth place in the relay with a combined time of 54.45 seconds.

The girls 4x200 meter relay team of Allie Heather, Tayte Higgins, Lauren Friedrich and Hailey Rademan finished fifth place in the relay with a combined time of 1:49.76.

The girls 4x800 meter relay team of Ava Bryant, Brittney Johnson, Triniti Tucker and Hillary Roney finished eighth place in the relay with a combined time of 13:25.81.

The boys 4x100 meter relay team of Tyler Oden, Brooks Volkart, Jackson Hensley and Ayden Bryant finished eighth place in the relay with a combined time of 46.22 seconds.

The boys 4x800 relay team of Damien Pace, Hayden Hern, Andrew Reed and Ian Miller finished sixth place in the relay with a combined time of 8:58.37.

California's sectional qualifiers will compete on Saturday in the Class 3 Sectional 2 Tournament in Mexico.
