One killed, three injured in three crashes

A Bunceton man was injured early Tuesday morning in a Morgan County crash.

Charley T. Lowery, 78, was driving south on Missouri 5 a little after 4 a.m. when he crossed over the center line, according to a Highway Patrol crash report.

Lowery's 1993 Chevrolet S10 went off the left side of the road, hit a utility pole and stopped down an embankment. Lowery wasn't wearing a seatbelt and sustained minor injuries. He was taken to Lake Regional Hospital by Mid-MO EMS.

A Miller County crash Tuesday afternoon took the life of a Belleville, Illinois, man and injured a Belleville woman.

James D. Gillispie, 76, was driving west on Missouri 42 at Castle Road on his 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle around 5 p.m. Tuesday when he drove off the right side of the road.

Gillispie hit a driveway entrance and the motorcycle flipped over, ejecting him and his passenger, Mary V. Gillispie, 68, from the vehicle, according to a Highway Patrol crash report.

Both were wearing safety devices, but James Gillispie was killed and Mary Gillispie sustained serious injuries. James Gillispie was taken to Lake Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 7 p.m. Mary Gillispie was taken by MU Air to the University Hospital.

A Brumley man was injured in a Tuesday evening crash in Miller County.

Roger E. Rodden was riding as a passenger as his 16-year-old daughter drove south on Route C, south of Barton School Road, when the juvenile lost control of the vehicle, according to a Highway Patrol crash report.

The 1998 Dodge Dakota went off the right side of the road, then crossed over the center line when the girl overcorrected, then struck the bridge railing when she overcorrected again.

Rodden, 55, wasn't wearing a seatbelt and sustained minor injuries. He was taken to Lake Regional Hospital by private transport.

His daughter was uninjured.
