Former resident going to ‘Bread and Beyond’

Opening bakery soon at Oak and Buchanan streets

Buchanan St. A friend, Jan Morton, has helped her transform the former beauty salon into a bakery since leasing the space in August. Miller said the bakery will not only help her reconnect with her hometown, but it will also honor her parent's entrepreneurial legacy. An opening date is presently undetermined, however Miller hopes to open within the next week.

Madonna Miller left California in 1979 after a fire destroyed her family's home.

More than 40 years later, she is returning to open the Bread and Beyond bakery to keep her parents' memory alive.
