California Police Department plans move

Department moving permanently as repairs planned for City Hall

Democrat photo/Garrett Fuller — Continuing moisture issues at City Hall, requiring "major repair and renovation of the building exterior," has forced the California Police Department to eventually relocate to a former certified public account office at 101 E. Madison St., on the corner of East Madison and North Oak streets. A timeline for the move is unknown at this point as some work to the property is needed to make it usable as a police department.

Ongoing moisture issues are forcing the California Police Department into a new home.

However, the city's new property -- a $180,000, two-story building at East Madison and North Oak streets -- needs a lot of work to make it usable as a police department.
