Aldermen take oath of office

Three aldermen return to their seats after last week's election.

Ward 1 Alderwoman Kim Robertson, Ward 2 Alderman Bryan Lawson and Ward 3 Alderwoman Ronnie Korte were voted back into their roles after the General Municipal Election on April 2.

The City of California Board of Aldermen held a special meeting on Monday for the newly elected members. The board approved an ordiance accepting the results. Afterward, City Clerk Scott Jobe led the three aldermen as they took their oath of office.

Board members discussed other business such as the city's Yard Waste Recycling Center. Board members approved an ordnance reestablishing rules and regulation for the center. However, before members approved, they motioned to keep the recycling center open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Sunday, subject to change.
