Pintos golf takes second and fifth place in week of tournaments

The Pintos golf team continued its successful run of strong tournament appearances with a second-place and a fifth-place finish last week.

California Pintos golf particpated in events in Boonville and New Bloomfield.

The Pintos took part in the Boonville Masters Invitational on Thursday and finished fifth place out of 19 teams with a combined team score of 332 strokes. Out of 114 golfers in the individual competition, Kaiden Ingram tied for sixth place and Will Boyd tied for ninth place.

California’s junior varsity team took seventh place out of 14 teams at the Boonville JV Scramble Tournament with a combined team score of 263 strokes.

On Monday, the Pintos took a trip to the Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield for the New Bloomfield Two-Man Scramble. The Pintos took second place out of 15 teams with a combined score of 138 (-6) strokes. The duo of Will Boyd and Chase Schlup finished in sixth place with a combined score of 68 (-4), while the pairing of Jackson Hackett and Ayden Howard finished ninth place with a combined socre of 70 (-2).

The Pintos will compete in four events throughout the next week. They will take part in the Southern Boone Tournament today, host the California Tri on Thursday, play in the Sacred Heart Invitational on Monday and play in the Capital City Invitational on Tuesday.
