An early morning accident on Tuesday left an Eldon pedestrian dead in Miller County.
At 5:25 a.m., Tyler M. Tompkins, 37, of Eldon, was walking across Missouri 52 near Pine Street when Alton L. McClure, 27, of Clarksburg, hit him with a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 1500.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, Miller County EMS took Tompkins to Lake Regional Hospital, where a doctor pronounced him dead at 6:13 a.m.

A Columbia man was injured in a single-vehicle crash Monday morning in Miller County.
At 9:44 a.m., Denver L. Mason, 26, was driving north on U.S. 54 when his 2002 Hyundai Sonata went off the right side of the road, according to a Highway Patrol crash report.
The vehicle returned to the road, hit a curb, went off the side of the road again, traveled down an embankment and hit a tree.
Mason was wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries. Miller County EMS transported him to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment.
