The vestibule has been completed since the summer, but was missing a crucial component — access control equipment. After issues with another vendor, Mid-Mo Telecom, of Jefferson City, installed the access control equipment Jan. 2, completing the project. Visitors will now enter the vestibule, on the right, while the original main entrance will still be used for events and deliveries.
After school officials waited months on a key component to be installed, California Elementary School's secure-entry vestibule is now open.
Visitors are now required to enter through the vestibule entrance, which was added in June as part of safety upgrades across the district.
