Small act of kindness goes a long way for CMS student

Student wrote to Texas small business, who had a large response

Moseley wrote to North Texas Vinyl, a small, family-owned record store chain in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, for an optional assignment about entrepreneurship in Williams' 7th grade reading class. North Texas Vinyl's owner, G.I. Sanders, responded by sending Moseley a turntable, speakers and records. After he posted her letter on the record store's Now Spinning Facebook Group, hundreds of people from around the world raised $1,500 for a listening initiative at the school, which was matched by Moseley's parents. Sanders said many watched Moseley's reaction unfold in real time as she unwrapped the gifts, as her father, in the foreground, livestreamed the assembly on the Facebook Group.

California Middle School 7th grader Irelyn Moseley was confused why she was called into a dark gymnasium around noon Friday.

As she entered, the lights flipped on, revealing fellow classmates and her parents applauding.
