Supper with Santa fundraiser helps high school seniors

A kick off to the Christmas celebration weekend in Russellville, Supper with Santa will bring the workshop experience to the community.

The Russellville High School cafeteria will be open to the community Dec. 7 for three meal options and photo opportunities with Santa. Hot dogs, hamburgers or cheeseburgers include fries and a drink and start at $5.

Chairman Gayle Templeton said this event will jump start the other events in town that weekend. The city's Christmas parade is the following day, Dec. 8.

Parents are welcome to take free photos with Santa from 5-8 p.m. The workshop will include Christmas picture frames, ornaments, and coloring pages for $3.

Funds will go toward the 2019 senior class Project Graduation, which gives seniors a place to gather graduation night.

"Project Graduation is an all-night drug-, tobacco- and alcohol-free chaperoned event, so that the graduating seniors have a safe place for the night," Templeton said.

Funds raised beyond the cost of the event will be split between graduates, who attend Project Graduation to assist with the next chapter in their life.

"The more we raise, the more we can send them on their way with, as a start," Templeton said.
