An improvement to the Russellville summer school program has added arts to the mix.
Larissa Mehmert, Title 1 math instructor, will be the facilitator of STEAM.
The hands-on activities will include science, technology, engineering, arts and math for grades K-9.
"You don't have to be in our district to participate," Mehmert said. "It's a lot more hands-on and higher-level thinking."
From 8 a.m.-3 p.m., the STEAM Academy will include problem-solving projects and outdoor learning on field trip Friday.
The program runs May 20 through June 7 and will include free breakfast and lunch. Limited bus routes are available.
