Renovations will soon start on the Versailles ambulance base, as a bid was approved at the Aug. 21 Mid-Mo Ambulance District board of directors meeting.

Administrator Kempf presented two bids for the project, of which Midwest General Construction, of Tipton, was chosen for $39,625.

An additional bid for a new Auto Pulse, which is an automatic CPR board, was approved from Zoll Medical to the tune of $8,995, including a $2,000 discount for trade-in. Kempf said the existing boards are aging and in need of an update. This means it's time to start replacing the old with the new. A motion was made to accept the equipment, which was approved by the board.

Just before the regular meeting, a tax levy hearing set the levy at 0.00 per hundred dollars valuation for 2019. The board voted to approve the levy.

The run stats for the month of July were presented: Tipton, 59 calls with 37 transports; California, 81 calls with 55 transports; and Versailles, 192 calls with 113 transports. The total calls district-wide were 332 with 205 transports, with a transport rate on patient contact calls of 71.2 percent.
