The California Area Chamber of Commerce's annual lighted Christmas parade with the theme "A Disney Christmas" will begin at 5 p.m. Dec. 7.

Line-up starts at 4 p.m. on Stella Street in front of the city swimming pool.

Entries must be lighted. No "live" Santas. Candy must be handed out and not thrown from entries to ensure everyone's safety.

The parade will travel up Owen Street to Oak Street and over to High Street, ending at the Moniteau County Courthouse.

Just before the parade, Mayor Norris Gerhart will light the Christmas tree on the courthouse lawn.

After the parade, the displays for the Chamber's first "Christmas in Proctor Park" may be enjoyed, as they are lit for the first time this weekend.

Also following the parade, Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit with children in Sweet Chipotle Event Center, east of the courthouse.
