Shed fire on Rock House Road is total loss

Firefighters from the Russellville/Lohman Fire Protection District were joined by crews from Regional West Fire Protection District in fighting a structure fire Tuesday afternoon.

The fire was reported in the 12800 block of Rock House Road around 1:42 p.m., according to Russellville/Lohman Fire Protection District Chief Mitchell Ott.

The first firefighters on the scene reported heavy black smoke coming from a shed, with a motor home and tractor inside, which was fully engulfed in flames.

Regional West crews were called to bring tankers to help fight the fire.

The structure was considered a total loss. No injuries were reported.

The homeowner told fire officials he had been grinding metal in the shed then left. While he was away, his wife called him and told him the shed was on fire.

Tuesday's fire was the 10th structure fire Russellville/Lohman firefighters were called to in 2019, Ott said.
