Program to teach youth about law enforcement

A program for Moniteau County children to learn more about law enforcement has just been put together by the Moniteau County Sheriff's Office, the California Police Department and the Tipton Police Department.

The Moniteau County Law Enforcement Explorer Program is available for any county resident between the ages of 14-20 to get together with their local law enforcement to see what a typical day looks like.

This will include classroom, exercises, scenarios, leadership, hands-on experience and even service to the community.

As of yet, this program is only available for Moniteau County residents. As time progresses and more adolescents take part in the program, it possibly may be extended to neighboring counties.

For more information, contact the Moniteau County Sheriff's Office at 573-796-2525.
