A Springfield man was arrested for possession of illegal drugs this week in Moniteau County.
According to sheriff's department reports, deputies checked on a person walking Tuesday along U.S. 50, near California.
The person was identified as Matthew Gibson, 31, who was found to have an outstanding warrant in Springfield for his arrest.
Deputies searched a backpack he was carrying and reportedly found methamphetamine.
