Trivia fundraiser on tap for Russellville's Project Graduation

RUSSELLVILLE, Mo. - A trivia night at Reinhart Circle, 5007 Buffalo Road in Jefferson City, will be the last big fundraiser to support Russellville 2019 Project Graduation.

"It's good for the kids to have one last night with their friends in a good atmosphere," organizer Michelle Brautigam said.

Trivia questions will focus on Missouri, TV, sports and more.

A table fits a team of eight and is $100. Individuals are welcome to sign up for $15.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. Friday, March 8, an hour ahead of games to enjoy dinner. Potato or broccoli and cheddar soup, chili, nachos, hot dogs, Frito pie and desserts will be available for $1-2 each.

Cash bar and endless cups for soft drinks will be available.

Guests can also participate in the silent auction. Some items include a fully-stocked laundry basket, Schaefer House blanket, Kansas City Zoo tickets, a fire pit with s'mores kit, portable Russellville Indians speaker and more.

Trivia begins at 7 p.m.

"They should come out and have a good time," Brautigam said.

So far, the group has raised at least $6,000, said Gayle Templeton, Project Graduation chairperson. The event will help the senior class have a supervised place to be together.

"Project Graduation is an all-night drug-, tobacco- and alcohol-free event for the graduates with a parent chaperone," Templeton said. "It's a fun-filled, jam-packed evening for them to celebrate."

After graduation May 11, all seniors are invited to the high school event.

Activities such as outdoor laser tag, National Guard obstacle course, dodge ball, a photo scavenger hunt, caricatures by artist Jim Dyke and more will take place from 10 p.m.-4 a.m.

"Any reputable grad who stays the full night from 10 p.m.-4 a.m. will walk out with a cash prize," Templeton said.

The boosters held events all year and sold raffle tickets at sporting events to raise money.

"The more we raise, the more we can send them on their way with as a start," Templeton said.

Community members are welcome to drop off donations including more auction items. Trivia tickets or tables for can be reserved by calling Brautigam at 573-680-0090.
