Moniteau County bridge projects approved by commission

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has approved a contract that will impact two bridges on Moniteau County Route CC.

Gene Haile Excavating was awarded a contract to replace the bridge over Medlen Creek, north of Route C, and replace the deck of the bridge over Burris Fork, north of Watson Road. The contractor submitted the lowest bid of $849,329.

The bridges, which were both built in 1967, are included in Governor Parson's "Focus on Bridges" program passed by the Missouri General Assembly during its 2019 session. The program appropriated $50 million in state general revenue to fund 45 high priority bridge projects throughout the state.

Each bridge will be closed during the work but not at the same time. A start date for work on each bridge has not yet been established. MoDOT will alert the public with updates through signs, news releases and social media.
