Nestled at the end of State Street in Clarksburg rests a charming salon where customers can get much more accomplished than a haircut.

In July, A Good Hair Day completed the addition of a room where customers can procure the star treatments of a massage, waxing, facials or even a manicure or pedicure. These services have been offered at the salon for just three months, but the progress has been agreeable, owner Robin Arnold said.

"The room used to be a porch, but we enclosed it," Arnold said. "I wanted to add services to A Good Hair Day because we have an esthetician."

This esthetician is a two-year veteran of the salon and California native, Becca Hamilton.

"I think the room turned out good," Hamilton said. "I know I've been pretty busy ever since."

Hamilton completed her cosmetology licensure in 2016 with the esthetician program to follow in 2017.

While a variety of services keep the additional room full of activity, Arnold remains busy as ever in the main lobby of the cottage.

"Every person is different in what they want," Arnold said. "Some people come in with an idea of what they want to look like, and we have to make sure we understand the main goal."

This interpretation seems to have hit its mark a time or two. Arnold and Hamilton said they have clientele that visit them from an approximately 60 mile radius.

"Oh, and we do a whole lot of weddings, too," Hamilton said.

Meanwhile, the additional room holds a sizeable massage table, a pedicure chair, a manicure station, a wax pot, and a good mix of lotions and other supplies from Image Skincare for facials.

For right now, Arnold and Hamilton have no immediate plans for further additions to their operation.

"We're happy with what we have now," Arnold said. "People come from all over to enjoy the same quality of work with a lower price. The customers are friendly and we all just really enjoy all we have."
