Burney Sisters to perform at Finke Theatre

The Burney Sisters will be performing at 7 p.m. Friday at the Finke Theatre. The performance is sponsored by Jenice Taggart and John & Patty Kay.

This will be the second performance in California for the Burney Sisters in as many months - the duo recently played the 29th annual Ozark Ham & Turkey Festival.

The Burney Sisters, Olivia and Emma Burney, are a seismic sister duo with an ever-evolving folk/rock/Indie sound.

With a maturity and emotional intelligence that belies their age, Olivia writes keen and knowing songs while Emma rounds out their sound, arranging for multiple instruments and structuring unique and resonant harmonies. The result is personal and penetrating songs that connect with and captivate the listener.

Their debut 2017 EP included such gems as "Constellations" and the popular "Plastic." Their follow up EP, "Where We Stand," was released in 2018. Currently, the pair have been expanding their musical tastes as reflected in their latest songs. Their new single, "Make Me Happy," released earlier this year in September, is infused with a folk rock sound and even nuances of punk, proving the unexpected always delights.

The Burney Sisters have played stages big and small. Opening for Wynonna Judd, Lonestar and Jo Dee Messina were incredible experiences, but festival stages such as Peddler's Jamboree, Twangfest and, most notably, Columbia's Roots N Blues N BBQ, afford them exciting opportunities to connect with fans and meet amazing new people.

Adult tickets are $12, while tickets for children 14 and younger are $6.
