Tax statements coming soon from collector's office

The Moniteau County Collector's office will soon be sending out statements for property and personal taxes to residents.

As the collector's office will send out statements Nov. 1 or payments due by Dec. 31, the website should open Nov. 1 for those who would like to pay immediately.

This year, there are still several option for residents to pay their taxes:

- Residents may pay at www.moniteaucountycollector.com with a credit or debit card. This will add a 2.9 percent processing fee.

- The online payment option also allows residents to pay via an electronic check, which will run a $1.50 fee; paying with a Visa debit card will run a $2.50 fee.

- The option to pay personal and property taxes at the collector's counter at the Moniteau County Courthouse is also available. Residents will only receive a printed receipt when their account has been paid. Receipts may be paid remotely, or the collector's office will mail them out for online payments, as is required by state law.

Moniteau County Collector Ellen Ash wishes to remind the county to make sure their addresses are updated, if a relocation has occurred in the past year.

For more information, visit www.moniteaucountycollector.com, or see Ash and her staff from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the courthouse.
