Two people were arrested Monday after a traffic stop in Moniteau County.
The vehicle stop occurred in California, according to Moniteau County Sheriff's Department reports. The driver, identified as Dennis W. Johnson, 51, of California, was found to have a revoked driver's license. Deputies found Johnson had eight previous convictions for the same offense and arrested him.
Deputies spoke with Johnson's passenger, identified as Carl A. Burks, 54, of Poplar Bluff, who also did not have a valid driver's license. Johnson gave consent to search the vehicle, and deputies reportedly located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the passenger area of the vehicle.
