Moniteau County reports possible COVID-19 exposure at Nic-Nac Cafe

The Moniteau County Health Center has notified community members of possible coronavirus exposure at Nic-Nac Cafe in California.

A person who tested positive for COVID-19 and was possibly contagious was at the restaurant Aug. 2 between 7:30-8:30 a.m.

This is the third instance of contact tracing efforts by the Health Center requiring a public notice due to the person being unable to identify possible contacts while present in the past week. The two prior instances took place July 22 and 24 at a restaurant in Tiptonand during the Tipton R-6 School's summer activity camps July 31.

The Health Center recommends those who have possibly been exposed to monitor themselves for developing symptoms and to help reduce the risk of further exposure by limiting unnecessary public contact, adhering to proper social distancing and wearing a face mask when around others.

The Health Center clarified in a news release that its contact tracing efforts are intended to alert members of the community who may have been present at the listed date and time frame, not a directive to avoid any establishment.

As of Saturday, Moniteau County has reported 166 total cases of COVID-19, including 39 active cases, 125 patients who have recovered and two deaths.
