The Moniteau County Health Center has reported a possible community coronavirus exposure at the Moniteau County Fair.

A person who tested positive for COVID-19 was present at the fair between 6:30 p.m.-1:30 a.m. Aug. 3 and between 6:30-10 p.m. Aug. 4, the Health Center reported in a news release Tuesday.

Because the person was unable to identify possible contacts while present at the fair and was in the contagious stage of the disease, the Health Center recommends anyone who may have been exposed monitor themselves for developing symptoms.

Additionally, the Health Center recommends such individuals limit unnecessary public contact, adhere to proper social distancing and wear a mask when around others.

Symptoms of COVID-19 may include a fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher, muscle aches, fatigue, shortness of breath and a cough, as well as runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain and other symptoms, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

There were 37 active COVID-19 cases in Moniteau County confirmed as of Monday afternoon. Moniteau County has seen 169 total cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.
